After last being seen as his iconic character Jason Bourne in the 2007 blockbuster The Bourne Ultimatum, Matt Damon has declared interest in returning to the Bourne franchise.
Speaking to Access Hollywood, Damon had originally doubted a comeback to the popular series back in October after choosing to focus on other projects but this recent interview suggests that he is hopeful of appearing as Bourne again.
“I’ve always been open. I love that character and I love that series. It’s just really an issue of finding the story. We don’t know what that is. How do you get that character going again? If we could crack that, we’d do it.”
Damon also went on to say that he and his collaborating director Paul Greengrass (who made Supremacy and Ultimatum) have discussed the possibility of a new film.
“We have a bunch of stuff we talk about but Bourne always comes up, inevitably, because it’s a big, significant part of our lives. So we would love for it to work out, but it’s a tough one.”
A lot of fans will hope you do come back Matt after the summer disappointment that was The Bourne Legacy which saw Jeremy Renner play a new spy whose character is connected to the Bourne universe. Original is always best!
