Chris Pratt’s Garfield embarks on a high-stakes heist in new trailer for The Garfield Movie

A wacky new trailer has been unveiled for The Garfield Movie.

The animated adaptation of the beloved Jim Davis comic strip Garfield sees our favourite lasagne-loving cat return to the big-screen for a new cinematic adventure.

Helmed by Mark Dindal (The Emperor’s New Groove, Chicken Little), the plot sees Garfield encounter his long-lost father in an unexpected reunion that quickly leads to a hilarious, high-stakes heist.

Having voiced other beloved animated characters like Emmet Brickowski in The Lego Movie (2014) and Mario in last year’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Chris Pratt (Parks and Recreation, Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy) is on hand to lend his vocals to the role of the sleazy orange tabby.

Additionally, Samuel L. Jackson (Star Wars series, Captain Marvel) provides the voice of Garfield’s estranged father Vic alongside a stellar cast that includes Hannah Waddingham (Game of Thrones, Ted Lasso), Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction, Mission: Impossible series), Nicholas Hoult (About a Boy, The Great), Cecily Strong (Saturday Night Live, Ghostbusters), Harvey Guillén (What We Do in The Shadows, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish), Brett Goldstein (SuperBob, Ted Lasso), Bowen Yang (Silicon Valley, Saturday Night Live) and Snoop Dogg (Starsky & Hutch, Turbo).

The Garfield Movie will land in UK cinemas on 24 May.
