The official trailer for Saturday Night has been unveiled online.
The biographical comedy-drama explores the chaotic events leading to the premiere of one of the most iconic programmes in television history.
Directed and co-written by Jason Reitman (Juno, Up in the Air), the film focuses on a ferocious troupe of young comedians and writers who came together to make the original sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live prior to its broadcast on NBC on 11 October 1975.
As expected, the much-anticipated project features an exciting ensemble portraying the key figures of that event including Gabriel LaBelle (The Predator, The Fabelmans) as Lorne Michaels, Cooper Hoffman (Licorice Pizza, Wildcat) as Dick Ebersol, Rachel Sennott (Shiva Baby, Bottoms), as Rosie Shuster, Dylan O’Brien (Teen Wolf, Maze Runner trilogy) as Dan Aykroyd, Lamorne Morris (New Girl, Fargo) as Garrett Morris, Cory Michael Smith (Gotham, First Man) as Chevy Chase, Ella Hunt (Anna and the Apocalypse, Dickinson) as Gilda Radner, Emily Fairn (The Responder, Black Mirror: Demon 79) as Laraine Newman, Kim Matula (The Bold and the Beautiful, Fighting with my Family) as Jane Curtin, Matt Wood (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Sunset Park) as John Belushi, Nicholas Braun (Succession, Zola) as Jim Henson AND Andy Kaufman, Matthew Rhys (The Americans, Perry Mason) as George Carlin, Jon Batiste (Treme, The Color Purple) as Billy Preston, Oscar winner J. K. Simmons (Oz, Whiplash) as Milton Berle, and Oscar nominee Willem Dafoe (Platoon, Poor Things) as David Tebet.
As things stand, Saturday Night has no UK release date though, it will arrive in American cinemas on 11 October.
