Disfigured actor Tom Rhys Harries transforms into a shape-shifting creature in new trailer for Clayface

A freaky new trailer has premiered for Clayface.

The upcoming horror thriller finally gives the eponymous DC Comics character his own cinematic outing after taking a back seat to other renowned DC characters like Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman.

Directed by James Watkins (Eden Lake, The Woman in Black) and co-written by Mike Flanagan (Doctor Sleep, The Life of Chuck), the story follows an up-and-coming Hollywood actor whose meteoric rise is tragically cut short when a local crime boss’s actions leave him horribly disfigured.

Seeking to return to his former self, he turns to a scientist who gives him cutting-edge treatment that brings terrifying side effects and sets him down a destructive path of vengeance.

Welsh actor Tom Rhys Harries (The Gentlemen, White Lines) steps into the daunting shoes of Matt Hagen and his creepy alter-ego Clayface, and is joined by Naomi Ackie (I Wanna Dance with Somebody, Mickey 17), David Dencik (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, No Time to Die), Max Minghella (The Handmaid’s Tale, Babylon), Eddie Marsan (Happy-Go-Lucky, Sherlock Holmes), Nancy Carroll (Father Brown, Stephen) and Joshua James (Cyrano, Andor).

Filmed around Liverpool and Wirral last year, Clayface will arrive in UK cinemas on 21 October.
