Warner Bros confirm Justice League film, Zack Snyder set to direct

Many DC Comic book fans have been groaning for months about the much-anticipated superhero blockbuster Superman vs Batman particularly with regards to some of the casting choices.

But their frustration is about to increase after Warner Brothers announced last night that director Zack Snyder would not only be helming the sequel to Man of Steel but that he will also take control of the multi-superhero epic Justice League.

The news was revealed by Warner Bros president of worldwide production Greg Silverman who said:

“It will be a further expansion of this universe. Superman vs Batman will lead into Justice League.”

This potentially means that Henry Cavill will be reprising his role as Clark Kent/Superman but also suggests he’ll be joined by his new co-stars Ben Affleck (Bruce Wayne/Batman) and Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman).

Aquaman, The Green Lantern, Flash and Cyborg are the other four Justice League characters that are likely to feature though only one of them has had a standalone film in recent years.

The script is currently being written with a possible release date likely to be in 2017.
