Ryan Gosling reunites with Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn in gritty trailer for Only God Forgives

As one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, Ryan Gosling has been working hard in the last couple of years with films such as The Ides of March, Gangster Squad and of course, Drive. However his most devoted fans will be distraught to hear the recent news that he will be taking a break from acting to concentrate on his directing.

Fortunately they aren’t bound to be sad for long as he pairs up with his Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn for their next collaboration, the violent crime-drama Only God Forgives which has just released its first glossy trailer.

Gosling plays Julian, a drug-smuggler turned manager of a boxing club in Bangkok who is approached by his mother (Kristen Scott Thomas) about taking down the man responsible for his brother’s death.

The film has no official release date but is likely to be out towards the end of the year.

Gosling can next be seen in another crime-thriller The Place Beyond the Pines which co-stars fellow Oscar-nominee Bradley Cooper (The Hangover, Silver Linings Playbook) and girlfriend Eva Mendes (Stuck on You, Ghost Rider) and is due out in cinemas next week.
