With the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike finally resolved, Hollywood is looking to reset itself with a number of new mouthwatering projects.

In a intriguing piece of casting news, Oscar-winning duo Russell Crowe (Gladiator, A Beautiful Mind) and Rami Malek (Mr. Robot, Bohemian Rhapsody) are set to headline the upcoming historical drama Nuremberg.

Helmed by James Vanderbilt (Truth), the big-screen adaptation of the Jack El-Hai book The Nazi and the Psychiatrist explores how American psychiatrist Douglas Kelley (Malek) was tasked with determining whether Nazi prisoners were fit to stand trial for their war crimes only to find himself in a complex battle of wits with Hitler’s right-hand man Hermann Göring (Crowe).

In addition to the castings of Crowe and Malek, two-time Oscar-nominee Michael Shannon (Revolutionary Road, Nocturnal Animals) has also signed on to play Supreme Court Justice Robert H. Jackson, the chief prosecutor of the Nuremberg trials.

The story of those trials has been previously covered in other screen adaptations including the courtroom epic Judgment at Nuremberg (1961) and the historical miniseries Nuremberg (2000).
