Plot synopsis for Transformers 4 revealed

As director Michael Bay prepares to make a new-look Transformers film to add to his robotic action saga, the Michigan Film Office have unveiled plot details for the upcoming sequel in a press release.

“As humanity picks up the pieces following the conclusion of Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Autobots and Decepticons have all but vanished from the face of the planet. However, a group of powerful, ingenious businessman and scientists attempt to learn from past Transformer incursions and push the boundaries of technology beyond what they can control – all while an ancient, powerful Transformer menace sets Earth in his crosshairs. The epic adventure and battle between good and evil, freedom and enslavement ensues.”

The statement, which was shared on Coming Soon, also revealed that Transformers 4 will be filmed in Detroit which was the same place previous films Transformers (2007) and Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011) were shot.
Oscar-nominated actor Mark Wahlberg (The Departed, Ted) is set to play the new lead character of the franchise in place of original star Shia LaBeouf (Sam Witwicky) who has now finished his involvement with the series.
The film is expected to be released in cinemas on June 27th 2014.
