Alan Partridge fans have been rewarded with two great bits of news today.

Firstly the upcoming big-screen outing for the controversial Norwich broadcaster has finally been entitled Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa. Secondly the teaser trailer for the film has just come out. Eat my goal!

Though the action is limited to just one big conversation between Alan (Steve Coogan) and his North Norfolk Digital colleague Sidekick Simon (Tim Key), the laughs are still aplenty as the pair discuss the title of the film with another character.

Coogan has co-wrote the big-screen adaptation of the renowned TV series with Partridge creator Armando Iannucci (The Thick of It, In the Loop). The plot sees the unfortunate radio presenter battling with a giant media corporation over their takeover of his radio company.

Former Partridge characters including Alan’s PA Lynn (Felicity Montagu), his Geordie pal Michal (Simon Greenall) and his DJ rival Dave Clifton (Phil Cornwell) will also be appearing in the film.

It’s official release date will be August 7th. All together now, back of the net!
