Miles Morales’ Spider-Man goes on an adventure across the multiverse in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse trailer

The official trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is finally here.

From the creative minds of Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the much-hyped follow-up to the Oscar-winning animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) continues to focus on the multiverse formula that is currently making headway in the live-action Marvel films.

Jointly directed by Joaquim Dos Santos (Justice League Unlimited, Avatar: The Last Airbender), Kemp Powers (One Night in Miami…, Soul) and production designer Justin K. Thompson, the plot sees young hero Miles Morales and his alter-ego Spider-Man embark on an adventure across the multiverse with a new team of Spider-People, known as the Spider-Force.

From the original film, Shameik Moore reprises his vocal role as Miles alongside Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy / Spider-Woman, Jake Johnson as Peter Parker / Spider-Man, Brian Tyree Henry as Jefferson Davis, Luna Lauren Vélez as Rio Morales, and Oscar Isaac as Miguel O’Hara / Spider-Man 2099.

Additionally, the sequel also welcomes some versatile newcomers to the series including Oscar-winner Daniel Kaluuya (Get Out, Judas and the Black Messiah) as Hobart “Hobie” Brown / Spider-Punk, Issa Rae (Insecure, The Hate U Give) as Jessica Drew / Spider-Woman, Jason Schwartzman (Fantastic Mr. Fox, Isle of Dogs) as Jonathan Ohnn / The Spot, Karan Soni (Deadpool, Pokémon Detective Pikachu) as Pavitr Prabhakar / Spider-Man India and Shea Whigham (Boardwalk Empire, Joker) as George Stacy.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will swing into cinemas on 2 June.
