Kristen Stewart leads a new-look trio of Angels in trailer for Charlie’s Angels reboot

When the name ‘Charlie’s Angels‘ comes up, many of us tend to associate it between the original 1976-81 series or the underwhelming film adaptations from 2000 and 2003 which starred Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu).

The story of three crime-fighting women embarking on a number of missions is now making a comeback via a new film which is being helmed by actress-turned-director Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games series, Pitch Perfect trilogy).

Simply entitled Charlie’s Angels (‘duh’), the female-driven action flick has finally premiered its official trailer online.

The plot centres on a trio of strong and combative women who work for a global security and intelligence service known as the Townsend Agency. When a systems engineer blows the whistle on a dangerous technology, Charlie’s Angels from across the globe are called into action, putting their lives on the line to protect society.

Kristen Stewart (Twilight series, American Ultra) is the high-profile member of the trio and is supported by British duo Naomi Scott (The 33, Power Rangers) and Ella Balinska (Midsomer Murders, The Athena). Scott recently enjoyed success with her role as Disney princess Jasmine in the live-action adaptation of Aladdin.

As well as directing the film, Banks is also sharing the renowned role of Bosley with British veteran Sir Patrick Stewart (Star Trek: The Next Generation, X-Men series) and Djimon Hounsou (Guardians of the Galaxy, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword). Additionally, the film’s other cast members include Noah Centineo (The Fosters, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before) and Sam Claflin (The Hunger Games series, Me Before You).

It’s time to say “good morning Charlie” again when Charlie’s Angels is released in the UK on 29 November.
