Smile everyone, the trailer for Joker: Folie à Deux is here!

The long-anticipated sequel to the hit 2019 blockbuster Joker welcomes back Joaquin Phoenix to his Oscar-winning role as mentally-ill comedian Arthur Fleck and his psychotic alter-ego Joker.

Directed again by Todd Phillips, the DC Comics follow-up sees an incarcerated Arthur adjusting to life at Arkham Asylum, only to garner unlikely romantic interest from fellow inmate Harleen Quinn.

In one of the most lucrative film castings of recent years, multi-award-winning musician and actress Lady Gaga (A Star is Born, House of Gucci) shares top honours with Phoenix as the mysterious Harleen.

Additionally, the rest of the film’s new cast includes Brendan Gleeson (In Bruges, The Banshees of Insherin), Catherine Keener (Capote, Get Out), Ken Leung (Lost, Industry), Jacob Lofland (Mud, Maze Runner: The Scorcher Trials), Harry Lawtey (Industry, You & Me) and BAFTA winner Steve Coogan (Stan & Ollie, The Reckoning).

From the original Joker, there are returns for Zazie Beetz as Arthur’s former neighbour Sophie, plus Leigh Gill as Gary and Sharon Washington as Arthur’s social worker.

Bound to put a smile on your face (again!), Joker: Folie à Deux is scheduled for release in the UK on 4 October.
