Domhnall Gleeson portrays Winnie the Pooh author AA Milne in Goodbye Christopher Robin trailer

For many fans, Winnie the Pooh is highly regarded as one of the most popular fictional characters of all time.

Luckily, the story of how the honey-loving bear came to be is being explored in an upcoming biopic drama which is sure to please many Pooh fans. It also helps that the origin film also features two stars who have both forged promising careers in the last few years!

Entitled Goodbye Christopher Robin, the film’s official trailer is now available for all to see.

Directed by Simon Curtis (My Week with Marilyn, Woman in Gold) and written by Liverpudlian Frank Cottrell Boyce (Millions, The Railway Man), the story focuses on author AA Milne, the man responsible for bringing Winnie to life. Following the end of the First World War, Milne was inspired to create the character and his many friends through his son whose name coincidentally was Christopher Robin.

Domhnall Gleeson (The Revenant, Star Wars: The Last Jedi) plays Milne with the beautiful Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street, Suicide Squad) co-starring as his wife Daphne. The rest of the ensemble cast includes Kelly Macdonald (Trainspotting, Boardwalk Empire), Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Crashing, Fleabag), Geraldine Sommerville (Cracker, Harry Potter series) and Alex Lawther (The Imitation Game, Howard’s End).

Goodbye Christopher Robin will be released in the UK on September 29th.
