Bill Pullman reveals Independence Day sequel could shoot next year

Ladies and gentleman, I give you our favourite cinematic president.

Having had a bit of an exodus in recent years, Bill Pullman will be hoping that the possible sequel to the sci-fi blockbuster Independence Day does happen as it would allow him to reprise his infamous role as President Thomas J. Whitmore.

Speaking to Crave Online, Pullman gave an update about the follow-up saying that things are starting to take shape.

“Within a year they might start shooting, yeah, something like that I guess. I worried about taking this part because it’s heating up”

He also went on to say that there are two different versions to the sequel with one involving Will Smith’s character and the other not featuring him.

“The Will Smith part of it may be ongoing but I think there’s strategies for both. I like what I have to do in both of them. I’m not in an old age home in a wheelchair being wheeled out for one more moment. It’s a very interesting conception of what happens to Whitmore between then and when it picks back up.”

The sequels, which have been titled ID Forever Part One and ID Forever Part Two, are said to be in the early process of production though official confirmation hasn’t been given yet.
I think a few of us still think this is a bad idea….
