James McAvoy gets amnesia in official trailer for Danny Boyle’s Trance

After dedicating the past year to making the ‘greatest show on Earth’ with the Olympics opening, Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire) has returned to film-making with his latest feature Trance which has just unveiled its first trailer.

The thriller stars James McAvoy (Atonement, Wanted) as an art auctioneer who, after being forced into a theft at his gallery, suffers amnesia after receiving a blow to the head and forgets where he stored the infamous painting Goya’s Witches in the Air.

He faces a battle to try and find the painting before gang leader Vincent Cassel (Eastern Promises, Black Swan) gets to it, with things further complicated by the involvement of hypo-therapist Rosario Dawson (Sin City, Clerks II).

Boyle reunites with his Shallow Grave and Trainspotting screenwriter John Hodge with the film due to open in UK cinemas on March 27th.
