Believe it or not folks, Tom Cruise is sixty….yes, you read that right, sixty!

Remarkably, the popular Hollywood star continues to defy his ageist critics especially after the incredible success of last summer’s hit action-sequel Top Gun: Maverick.

After that film’s success at the box-office, Cruise has guaranteed himself two more years of summer domination in the form of his reprised role as heroic spy Ethan Hunt in yet another installment of the Mission: Impossible series.

In an unusual turn, the seventh outing of the action franchise has been split in two with Dead Reckoning: Part One making its bow later this year. As to be expected, the film’s exhilarating new trailer promises death-defying stunts, and of course, Cruise running.

Helmed by long-serving director Christopher McQuarrie, the little-known plot sees Hunt and his IMF team embark on their dangerous mission to track down a terrifying nuclear weapon that threatens humanity before it falls into the wrong hands.

Cruise is joined in the two-part sequel by returning co-stars Ving Rhames (Luther Stickell), Simon Pegg (Benji Dunn), Rebecca Ferguson (Ilsa Faust), Vanessa Kirby (Alanna Mitsopolis), Henry Czerny (Eugene Kittridge), and Frederick Schmidt (Zola Mitsopolis).

Newcomers to the series include Hayley Atwell (Captain America trilogy, Christopher Robin), Pom Klementieff (Oldboy, Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy), Shea Whigham (Boardwalk Empire, Joker), Esai Morales (La Bamba, Ozark), Rob Delaney (Catastrophe, Deadpool 2), Charles Parnell (The Last Ship, Top Gun: Maverick), Indira Varma (Game of Thrones, Obi-Wan Kenobi), Mark Gatiss (Sherlock, The Favourite), and Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride, Stranger Things).

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning: Part One is scheduled for release in the UK on 12 July while Part Two will make its bow in 2024.
