After making four films in 2010, the desirable British actress Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace, Tamara Drewe) chose to take a break from film last year. But as 2012 comes to an end, she has two upcoming films due out in the next few months which have now both released their first trailers.
While she has a big action-role alongside Jeremy Renner in the fantasy-thriller Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters due out in 2013, Gemma’s other film is a much more subtle one as she co-stars alongside British veterans Terence Stamp (Superman II, Priscella, Queen of the Desert) and Oscar-winner Vanessa Redgrave (Julia, Atonement) in the dramedy A Song for Marion.
The film focuses on Arthur (Stamp), a grumpy old man whose cheerful wife Marion (Redgrave) loves to sing for her local choir which is led by beautiful director Elizabeth (Arterton). But when Marion suffers a recurrence of her illness, she requests that Arthur takes her place in the choir which he reluctantly agrees to do.
Christopher Eccleston (Shallow Grave, Doctor Who) co-stars as the estranged son of the elderly couple with the director being Paul Allen Williams (London to Brighton).
No release date has yet been given though early 2013 is looking the likely outcome.
