Succession to end with Series 4, Jesse Armstrong confirms

Succession fans, the end is f**king nigh…

After ongoing speculation, it has officially been revealed that the upcoming fourth series of the satirical HBO drama will be its last.

The surprising news was confirmed by creator and showrunner Jesse Armstrong during an interview with the New Yorker. He said:

“It’s been a bit tortured, and I felt unexpectedly nervous about talking to you, because it’s all theoretical until this point, and I have tried to keep it theoretical for a whole number of reasons.

Who knows about the psychological reasons, but the creative ones were that it felt really useful to not make the final, final decision for ages. You know, there’s a promise in the title of ‘Succession.’ I’ve never thought this could go on forever.”

Since debuting on our screens in 2018, the series has garnered huge critical acclaim as well as multiple awards, that include thirteen Emmys, five Golden Globes and two BAFTAs.

The final series will follow up on the dramatic events of the Series 3 finale, in which ruthless media mogul Logan Roy cut his children out of inheriting Waystar Royco.

Chief cast members Brian Cox (Logan Roy), Jeremy Strong (Kendall Roy), Sarah Snook (Siobhan “Shiv” Roy), Kieran Culkin (Roman Roy), Alan Ruck (Connor Roy), Matthew Macfadyen (Tom Wambsgans), Nicholas Braun (Greg Hirsch) and J. Smith-Cameron (Gerri Kellman) are all set to return for what promises to be a mouthwatering conclusion to one of television’s great dramas.

For UK fans, Series 4 will air its first episode on Sky Atlantic on 26 March.
