Snow White and the Huntsman and Pitch Perfect sequels confirmed for 2015

Universal Studios had a commercially successful year in 2012 with the likes of fantasy blockbuster Snow White and the Huntsman and comedy Pitch Perfect doing well at the box-office.

This has led to Universal president Adam Fogelson announcing at CinemaCon that both films would be receiving sequels scheduled for release in 2015.

Kristen Stewart (The Twilight Saga) is set to reprise her role as Snow White for the sequel though as many people expected, director Rupert Sanders (who had an off-screen affair with the actress) is not returning to helm. It is also likely that the cast of Pitch Perfect will reunite for their follow-up including main stars Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson.

Fogelson also revealed that Universal are working on a fifth Bourne film despite the disappointment of last year’s The Bourne Legacy. However there is no news regarding the plot or whether it will involve original star Matt Damon as Jason Bourne or Legacy star Jeremy Renner as Aaron Cross.

Finally, Fast and the Furious 7 (which will be helmed by Saw director James Wan) is set for a US release date of July 11th 2014.
