In the midst of this ongoing COVID pandemic, two of cinema’s most iconic monsters are finally going head-to-head in one of 2021 most anticipated blockbusters.

Towering reptile Godzilla and giant ape Kong are both set for a massive tussle in the upcoming action-flick Godzilla vs. Kong which (to the disappointment of many) is set to go down the streaming route.

Following on from the releases of Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island (2017) and Godzilla: King of the Monsters, the fourth entry of the ‘MonsterVerse’ has finally premiered its exhilarating trailer.

Directed by Adam Winguard (You’re Next, The Guest), the plot sees Kong and his protectors undertake a perilous journey to find his true home only to encounter trouble from a dangerous Godzilla.

The film welcomes back a trio of familiar faces from the recent ‘MonsterVerse’ instalments including Millie Bobby Brown (Madison Russell), Kyle Chandler (Dr. Mark Russell) and Zhang Ziyi (Dr. Ilene Chen).

There are also a variety of newcomers in the starry cast including Alexander Skarsgård (Big Little Lies, The Little Drummer Girl), Rebecca Hall (The Town, Iron Man 3), Brian Tyree Henry (This is Us, Joker), Shun Oguri (Weathering with You, The Voice of Sin), Eiza González (Baby Driver, Hobbs & Shaw), Julian Dennison (Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Deadpool 2), Lance Reddick (The Wire, One Night in Miami) and Demián Bichir (The Nun, The Hateful Eight).

Godzilla vs. Kong will arrive at HBO Max in American on March 26. It is currently scheduled for a cinematic release in the UK on June 18 but that may well change.
