What happens when you get Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt to appear in the same film as the men who’ve played Henry Hill and Tony Soprano? The answer….mayhem!

Today the trailer for Pitt’s new film Killing Them Softly has been uploaded and already it shows promise as a potentially gritty thriller following its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.

Adapted from George V Higgins’s novel Cogan’s Trade, Pitt stars as an enforcer who pursues two small-time crooks who have held up a high-stakes poker game run by gangsters.

Richard Jenkins (The Visitor), James Gandolfini (The Sopranos, In the Loop) and Ray Liotta (Goodfellas, Copland) co-star in the thriller with Pitt reuniting with his The Assassination of Jesse James director Andrew Dominik.

It will be released in the UK on September 21st.
