Ewan McGregor up for doing Trainspotting sequel ‘Porno’

After becoming a household name in the cult classic Trainspotting (1996), lead star Ewan McGregor has hinted his desire to finally appear in the long-delayed sequel Porno.

Speaking to the Daily Record, the Star Wars and Moulin Rouge! actor indicated that he would be up for doing the big-screen follow-up to Irvine Welsh’s novel but only if it turned out just as well as Danny Boyle’s original film.

“I know in the past I always said I wouldn’t do anything that would damage the reputation of the movie Trainspotting because I wouldn’t want to do a poor sequel, but at the same time, I would always read it if I was sent it. I was never in the position where they’ve asked me to do it.”

It has taken a while for McGregor to show interest in starring in Porno but whether the age factor plays into it, this could lead to problems that further damage any chance of the sequel ever materialising.
In the meantime, the Scottish actor can currently be seen in the newly-released survival drama, The Impossible.
