Carrie remake delayed by seven months

After compiling my 2013 preview, it turns out one of the films I predicted to be released in a certain month has now been pushed back a few months much to my annoyance.

Kimberly Price’s remake of the Stephen King classic Carrie has been delayed by Sony Pictures for another SEVEN months going from its original February release date to October 18th.

It does seem like a bold move given that the film will now be released just before Halloween time which should mean more money at the box-office.

Chloe Moretz (Kick-Ass, Hugo) plays the bullied teenager Carrie White who seeks revenge on her classmates via her special telekinetic powers. The film is also a remake of the Brian DePalma classic from 1976 which starred Sissy Spacek as Carrie and Piper Laurie as her religiously-crazed mother.
