The last thirty years have brought great success for Aardman Animations with their excellent work including the Wallace and Gromit films, Chicken Run (2000) and Shaun the Sheep Movie (2015).
Producer and filmmaker Nick Park is now taking us back in time to the prehistoric era for his latest animated film Early Man which features the voice of one of Britain’s biggest actors.
An official trailer has now premiered with the footage delivering the usual wit and humour that has made Aardman so successful.
The plot focuses on a young caveman named Dug who tries to unite his tribe against a mighty enemy whose Bronze Age City in order to save their home. To do so, the tribe must beat their opponents in a football match.
Oscar-winner Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) voices Dug with Tom Hiddleston (Thor, The Avengers) in villainous mode again as the sinister Lord Nooth.
Game of Thrones actress Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) is another big name involved in the film with the rest of the vocal cast consisting of Timothy Spall (Harry Potter series, Enchanted), Richard Ayoade (The IT Crowd, The Boxtrolls), Mark Williams (Harry Potter series, Father Brown), Selina Griffiths (Cuckoo, Benidorm), Johnny Vegas (Ideal, Benidorm), Gina Yashere (Mock the Week, Married Single Other) and Simon Greenall (I’m Alan Partridge, The Octonauts).
Early Man will be released in the UK on January 26th 2018.
