With the BAFTAs to announce their winners in three weeks time, the London Film Critics have pitched in with their choices for 2012/2013.

The acclaimed Austrian drama Amour secured three awards including the important Film of the Year prize beating off competition from Argo, Life of Pi and The Master. It also landed Best Actress for veteran Emmanuelle Riva who triumphed over Oscar favourites Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty) and Jennifer Lawrence (Silver Linings Playbook) as well as Best Screenplay for writer/director Michael Haneke.

However Haneke did miss out on Best Director which was awarded instead to Ang Lee for his helming of Life of Pi which also won Best Technical Achievement. The Master earned its two male star Joaquin Phoenix and Philip Seymour Hoffman the respected Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor prizes while Anne Hathaway claimed another crucial win in Best Supporting Actress for Les Miserables.

Berberian Sound Studio was named Best British Film while main actor Toby Jones was named Best British Actor for his performance in the film. The lovely Andrea Riseborough continued her impressive run in awards season winning the Best British Actress gong for the IRA-thriller Shadow Dancer while youngster Tom Holland deservedly won Best Young Actor for his role in the tsunami-drama The Impossible.

Steve Oman and Alice Lowe were named Best Breakthrough Filmmakers for their making of the British comedy Sightseers while French drama Rust and Bone triumphed in the Best Foreign Language Film category.
