Following its award success at the Cannes Film Festival, the much-talked about French film Blue is the Warmest Color has already attracted controversy through its strong subject matter as well as an ongoing feud between its director and the two main stars.
But while Abdellatif Kechiche and actresses Lea Seydoux (Robin Hood, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol) and Adèle Exarchopoulos (Le Rafle) continue to bicker about their experiences on the set, the Palme d’Or winning drama has finally premiered its official trailer.
Based on the graphic novel by Julie Maroh, the film follows Adèle (Exarchopoulos), a young woman who meets blue-haired Emma (Seydoux) and embarks on a passionate relationship with her. However over the next few years, they experience mixed fortunes of happiness and despair.
Given an NC-17 rating for its explicit sex scenes, the film has received critical acclaim after playing throughout some of the key festivals (including Cannes).
Bound to attract a lot of male audiences (for obvious reasons!), it will be released in the UK on November 15th.
