Tom Holland’s Spider-Man faces off against foes from different universes in new trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home

Despite the frustrations of the COVID pandemic, it’s safe to say that fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been spoiled rotten this year.

As of now, they have been treated to a hat-trick of new films, including the debuts of both Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings and the recently-released Eternals.

On top of that, there have also been a number of television spin-offs based on beloved Marvel characters, with Hawkeye due to make his bow on the small-screen next week.

To raise the excitement even more, there is now the small matter of a new Spider-Man outing that promises to be the most epic MCU flick since Avengers: Endgame (2019).

After the release of a mouthwatering trailer in August, a new full-length preview for Spider-Man: No Way Home has been unveiled that is sure to leave fans foaming at the mouth…

Helmed by franchise director Jon Watts, the plot sees Peter Parker struggling to carry on with his normal life after being unearthed as Spider-Man. When he asks Doctor Strange for help, it brings about dangerous consequences that threaten to change Peter’s life forever.

Once again, Tom Holland reprises his role as Peter / Spidey with Zendaya also back as his lover MJ.

Additionally, Marvel regulars Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange) and Benedict Wong (Wong) also feature alongside other Spider-Man actors Jon Favreau (Happy Hogan), Marisa Tomei (Aunt May Parker), Jacob Batalon (Ned Leeds), Tony Revolori (Flash Thompson), Angourie Rice (Betty Brant), Martin Starr (Mr. Harrington) and J.K. Simmons (J. Jonah Jameson).

On the subject of Simmons, the film already promises to be a nostalgia-fest for Marvel fans with Willem Dafoe (Norman Osborn/Green Goblin) and Alfred Molina (Otto Octavius) amongst the high-profile names from Sam Raimi’s original Spider-Man trilogy (2002-07) due to appear.

Spider-Man: No Way Home will swing into UK cinemas on 15 December.
