Marvel are set for another chaotic year in 2014 as they prepare to unleash superhero films like Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy.

But there’s also a web-slinging return to the big-screen for Spider-Man (and actors Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone) as the arachnid hero takes on not one, nor two but THREE opponents in the action-packed trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (via YOUTUBE).

Helmed again by Marc Webb, the plot sees Peter Parker (Garfield) continue his role as Spider-Man as he battles to protect New York City from three notorious villains. However he soon discovers that the trio are linked by the powerful company Oscorp.

Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx (Ray, Django Unchained) plays the main villain Electro with Paul Giamatti (Cinderella Man, Saving Mr Banks) and Dane DeHaan (Chronicle, Kill Your Darlings) also featuring in the respective roles of Rhino and Harry Osborn (previously played by James Franco in Sam Raimi’s original Spiderman trilogy).

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be released in the UK on April 18th 2014.
