Mark Wahlberg teams up with the Autobots in Transformers 4: Age of Extinction trailer

It’s been almost seven years since director Michael Bay brought the Transformers onto the big-screen and while the robotic action franchise lost some credibility with its two money-making sequels, the controversial filmmaker has opted to start afresh for the fourth chapter of the series, Age of Extinction.

The upcoming summer release, which features new faces amongst old characters, has premiered its trailer online.

Replacing original trilogy actor Shia LaBeouf, Mark Wahlberg (The Departed, Lone Survivor) leads a new-look cast as a father who gets drawn into the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons along with his teenage daughter (played by Bates Motel’s Nicola Peltz).

The rest of the new additions to the explosive series include Jack Reynor (Delivery Man), Stanley Tucci (The Lovely Bones, The Hunger Games), Sophia Myles (Thunderbirds, Hallem Foe), Titus Welliver (Deadwood, Sons of Anarchy) and Kelsey Grammar (Cheers, Frasier).

Transformers 4: Age of Extinction will be released in the UK on July 10th.
