Amanda Seyfried to play female lead in Ted 2

Having shown her capabilities as a singer in Mamma Mia! and Les Miserables, Amanda Seyfried is now getting the chance to showcase her funny side for her next couple of films.

Soon to be seen in Seth MacFarlane’s upcoming cowboy comedy A Million Ways to Die in the West, the blonde-haired beauty has also managed to land another key role in the much-anticipated sequel to MacFarlane’s 2012 hit Ted.

She will be playing the new female lead at the expense of fellow actress Mila Kunis (Black Swan, Oz: The Great and Powerful) whose role is more limited compared to her involvement in the original film.

It is understood that the decision was a creative one by MacFarlane and that he and Kunis remain close. She is continuing to contribute her vocal work as Meg Griffin in his much-loved animated comedy Family Guy.

Mark Wahlberg (The Departed, Lone Survivor) is returning for the new film as John Bennett with MacFarlane contributing his voice again as the foul-mouthed teddy bear Ted.

Ted 2 will be released in cinemas on June 26th 2015.
