A wild and uncensored trailer for Babylon has been unveiled.

Directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Damien Chazelle (Whiplash, La La Land), the period epic takes place during the Jazz Age of the 1920s, as Hollywood slowly transitioned itself from silent films to “talkies”.

Two-time Oscar nominee Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street, I, Tonya) and Oscar-winner Brad Pitt (Moneyball, Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood) headline the film which already promises to be a wild ride for audiences.

The plot traces the rise and fall of multiple characters (including Robbie and Pitt) during an era of unbridled decadence and depravity in early Hollywood.

The rest of the film’s impressive ensemble includes Diego Calva (El Recluso, Narcos: Mexico), Tobey Maguire (Spider-Man trilogy, Seabiscuit), Samara Weaving (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Ready or Not), Jovan Adepo (The Leftovers, Fences), Li Jun Li (Evil, Sex/Life), Max Minghella (The Ides of March, The Handmaid’s Tale), Katherine Waterston (Inherent Vice, Fantastic Beasts series), Olivia Wilde (Cowboys and Aliens, Vinyl), Lukas Haas (Witness, Inception), Flea (Back to the Future trilogy, Obi-Wan Kenobi), Jeff Garlin (Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Goldbergs), Eric Roberts (Runaway Train, The Dark Knight) and multi-Emmy winner Jean Smart (Mare of Easttown, Hacks).

Babylon is scheduled for release in the UK on 20 January 2023.
