Lawyer Michael Fassbender gets into trouble with drug-trafficking in official trailer for Ridley Scott’s The Counselor

Having risen through the Hollywood ranks with his work in 2011 (which included Shame and X-Men: First Class), Michael Fassbender is continuing to prove himself as one of the biggest names in film right now.

His acting CV is already on the up for the next year or so as he finds himself mixing it up with the big boys (and gals) in his latest film, the crime-thriller The Counselor which sees renowned British director Ridley Scott (Alien, Gladiator) back behind the camera for the first time since his brother Tony’s tragic death last year. The official trailer for the star-filled production has now appeared online.

Penned by author Cormac McCarthy (No Country for Old Men, The Road), the film sees Fassbender play a lawyer who tries to find money and ends up getting drawn into the murky world of drug trafficking on the Mexican border.

The slick-looking thriller features a strong support cast of Hollywood talent including Oscar-winning couple Javier Bardem (No Country, Skyfall) and Penelope Cruz (Volver, Vicky Christina Barcelona) as well as Cameron Diaz (Being John Malkovich, Gangs of New York) and Brad Pitt (Fight Club, Moneyball).

Other versatile names that appear in the film include Dean Norris (Breaking Bad), John Leguizamo (Romeo + Juliet, Moulin Rouge!), Natalie Dormer (The Tudors, Game of Thrones) and former soap actress Emma Rigby (Hollyoaks, Prisoner’s Wives).

The film hits UK cinemas on November 15th.
