Harrison Ford in, Bruce Willis out of The Expendables 3

The rotation system keeps on coming for Sylvester Stallone and co. after two big-name Hollywood actors decided to swap their commitments for the upcoming third film in the action franchise The Expendables.

Stallone (Rocky series, Rambo series) has taken to Twitter to announce that not only is long-time friend Bruce Willis (Die Hard series, Pulp Fiction) missing out on appearing in The Expendables 3 but that fellow Hollywood legend Harrison Ford (Star Wars trilogy, Indiana Jones series) has signed up for a role.

WILLIS OUT… HARRISON FORD IN !!!! GREAT NEWS !!!!! Been waiting years for this!!!!

However a later tweet about Willis clearly came across as a dig at his friend. This was possibly down to Willis’s decision to walk away from the franchise and star in several mediocre action films.

“GREEDY AND LAZY … A SURE FORMULA FOR CAREER FAILURE”

The new film, which will be directed by newcomer Patrick Hughes (Red Hill), is apparently set to focus on a younger group of action heroes who initially clash with the older characters only to then join forces and save the day.

Speculation is also suggesting that Stallone and Ford could be joined by the likes of Nicolas Cage (The Rock, Con-Air), Jackie Chan (Rush Hour trilogy) and Wesley Snipes (Blade trilogy) in the latest bad-ass outing.

The film will be released in cinemas on August 15th 2014.
