Joaquin Phoenix falls in love with an A.I computer in official trailer for Spike Jonze’s Her

Having resurrected his film career with his Oscar-nominated role in Paul T. Anderson’s Scientology-based drama The Master earlier this year, Joaquin Phoenix is starting to enjoy acting again as he prepares himself for another fascinating role in his upcoming film Her.

Directed by Spike Jonze (Being John Malkovich, Adaptation), the emotional-looking sci-fi drama has just premiered its official trailer online.

Set in the future, the film sees Phoenix play a lonely man named Theodore who falls in love with an ‘artificially intelligent operating system’ known as Samantha.

Amy Adams (Enchanted, The Fighter), who appeared with Phoenix in The Master, reunites with her co-star while fellow lovely ladies Rooney Mara (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Side Effects) and Olivia Wilde (Tron Legacy, Cowboys and Aliens) also feature. Scarlett Johansson (Lost in Translation, The Avengers) has the unique role of voicing the romantic computer, a part originally played by British actress Samantha Morton (Jonze’s former actor from Being John Malkovich).

The film is set for a US release on November 20th though no UK date has been confirmed yet.
