Jodie Comer, Austin Butler and Tom Hardy to lead biker drama The Bikeriders

The high-profile projects keep on coming for Jodie Comer!

The multi-award-winning Liverpool actress is continuing her rise towards Hollywood stardom via a new project from acclaimed director Jeff Nichols (Take Shelter, Loving).

Entitled The Bikeriders, the film is an original story set in the 1960s following the rise of a fictional Midwestern motorcycle club. Seen through the lives of its members, the club evolves over the course of a decade from a gathering place for local outsiders into a more sinister gang, threatening the original group’s unique way of life.

Jodie is joined in the film by Austin Butler who is coming off his own star-making role as legendary musician Elvis Presley in the hit music-based biopic Elvis. Additionally, BAFTA-winner Tom Hardy (Peaky Blinders, The Revenant) completes the exciting trio of big names involved though none of the character roles are yet to be confirmed.

Filming is scheduled for October with a release date set for 2023.

2022 has been quite the year for Jodie so far. After bidding a bittersweet farewell to her popular character Villanelle in the final series of Killing Eve (2018-22), she also won her second television BAFTA for her devastating performance in last year’s COVID-based drama Help (2021).

However, she also made the perfect transition to the stage via her groundbreaking performance as a barrister in the powerful one-woman show Prima Facie. Jodie is due to reprise that role on Broadway next year while also starting work on both the post-apocalyptic drama The End We Start From, and the HBO series Big Swiss.

Busy, busy!
