Hugh Jackman sees his busy life thrown into disarray by his rebellious son in new trailer for The Son

A full-length trailer for The Son has landed.

The emotional family drama is the second of Florian Zeller’s stage trilogy to be adapted to the big-screen following the recent success of the two-time Oscar-winning drama The Father (2020).

Directed again by Zeller, the plot follows a businessman who sees his busy life with his new partner and baby complicated when his fiery teenage son moves in with them.

Oscar-nominee Hugh Jackman (Les Misérables, Prisoners) headlines the film’s talented cast alongside Oscar-winner Laura Dern (Jurassic Park, Marriage Story), Oscar-nominee Vanessa Kirby (The Crown, Pieces of a Woman), Hugh Quarshie (Holby City, Stephen) and newcomer Zen McGrath (Dig, Utopia).

Having won his second Best Actor Oscar for his powerful role in The Father, Sir Anthony Hopkins (The Silence of the Lambs, The Remains of the Day) also features in a small yet significant role.

There is currently no confirmed UK release date for The Son though it looks more likely to be out in early 2023.
