Harrison Ford returns to the sci-fi genre in official trailer for Ender’s Game

Over thirty-five years since becoming a big-screen icon with his role as Han Solo in the cinematic phenomenon Star Wars (1977), Harrison Ford is back to working on sci-fi films with his upcoming role in Ender’s Game.

The veteran actor, who also starred in Ridley Scott’s futuristic crime-thriller Blade Runner (1982), finds himself working alongside young British actor Asa Butterfield (Hugo) in the sci-fi adventure which has just unveiled its official trailer.

Based on the novel by Orson Scott Card and set in the future, the story focuses on a military team of humans led by Colonel Hyrum Graff (Ford) as they start training up a group of intelligent youngsters to tackle an alien race that has attacked Earth. One of the young recruits, Ender Wiggin (Butterfield), is seen as the team’s main hope of victory.

The impressive support cast also includes Oscar-winner Sir Ben Kingsley (Gandhi, Schindler’s List) and Viola Davis (Doubt, The Help) as well as young actresses Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit, Romeo and Juliet) and Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine, Zombieland).

The film is scheduled for release on November 1st.
