Colman Domingo is civil rights adviser Bayard Rustin in new trailer for Rustin

A new trailer has been unveiled for Rustin.

The factual drama depicts one of the most significant periods in Black American history, with Emmy winner Colman Domingo (Euphoria, Zola) tackling the key role of civil rights activist Bayard Rustin.

Directed by George C. Wolfe (Nights in Rodanthe, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom) and co-written by Dustin Lance Black (Milk, Under the Banner of Heaven), the drama explores how Rustin faced racism and homophobia during his attempts to help Martin Luther King organise the 1963 March on Washington.

Domingo is joined in the film by a stellar support cast that includes Aml Ameen (The Maze Runner, I May Destroy You) as King plus Chris Rock (Top Five, Fargo), Glynn Turman (The Wire, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom), CCH Pounder (The Shield, Avatar), Michael Potts (True Detective, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom), Jeffrey Wright (Westworld, The Batman), Da’Vine Joy Randolph (Dolemite Is My Name, Only Murders in the Building), Adrienne Warren (Women of the Movement, The Woman King), Lilli Kay (Your Honor, Yellowstone), Bill Irwin (Rachel Getting Married, The Dropout), and Audra McDonald (Beauty and the Beast, The Good Fight).

Rustin will arrive at Netflix on 17 November.
