Michael and Diana are confronted by the Columbian cartel in This City is Ours (Series 2) trailer

A ‘boss’ new trailer has arrived for the second series of This City is Ours.

The Liverpool-based crime drama returns after a successful launch on BBC One and BBC iPlayer last year that brought critical acclaim and two BAFTA Television Award nominations including Best Drama Series.

The story follows on from the dramatic events of the Series 1 finale as gangster Michael Kavanagh and his partner Diana Williams find themselves back in Spain only to face questions around the death of Columbian cartel leader Ricardo Guzman.

Back in Liverpool, tensions continue to bubble for the Phelan family and their members with their situation further complicated by the return of a former gang member seeking compensation from the firm.

Once again, James Nelson-Joyce reprises his BAFTA-nominated role as Michael alongside Hannah Onslow as Diana, and are joined by fellow cast returnees Jack McMullen as Jamie Phelan, Mike Noble as Banksey, Julie Graham as Elaine Phelan, Laura Aikman as Rachel Duffy, Kevin Harvey as Bobby Duffy, Saoirse Monica-Jackson as Cheryl Crawford, Darci Shaw as Melissa Sullivan, Adam Abbou as Freddie and Bobby Schofield as Bonehead.

Additionally, the series welcomes a couple of new additions to the acting ensemble including Shaun Evans (Endeavour, Until I Kill You) as former gangster Ozzie Thompson and Álvaro Morte (Money Heist, The Wheel of Time) as vengeful cartel member Felipe Guzman.

This City is Ours returns to BBC One on Sunday 25 October, with all eight episodes available to watch on iPlayer on the same day.
