It’s been a highly successful period for the prehistoric blockbuster Jurassic World following its cinematic release last month.
Despite initial doubts about whether it would top its predecessor Jurassic Park (1993), the sequel has become universally loved by critics and audiences and is now ranked as the third highest grossing film of all time (behind James Cameron’s Avatar and Titanic).
It comes as no surprise to learn that Universal Studios have now green-lit a sequel to the action-adventure which is scheduled for release on June 22nd 2018.
Furthermore, director Colin Trevorrow, screenwriter Derek Connolly and main actors Chris Pratt (Owen Grady) and Bryce Dallas Howard (Claire Dearing) will all be involved again.
The news was to be expected given the film’s monumental effort at the box-office and it will be interesting to see whether the plot will revolve around the park again after the chaos that took place in this year’s installment.
