A delicious trailer has premiered for Hedda.
Helmed by Nia DaCosta (Candyman, The Marvels), the upcoming period drama is the latest screen adaptation of the Henrik Ibsen play Hedda Gabler.
The plot centres on an ambitious socialite who finds herself torn between the lingering ache of a past love and the quiet suffocation of her present life. Over the course of one charged night, long-repressed desires and hidden tensions erupt—pulling her and everyone around her into a spiral of manipulation, passion, and betrayal.
Two-time BAFTA nominee Tessa Thompson (Creed trilogy, Passing) steps into the intimidating shoes of Hedda Gabler, a character previously portrayed on screen by the likes of Ingrid Bergman and Glenda Jackson.
Additionally, the rest of the film’s ensemble includes Imogen Poots (Need for Speed, The Father), Tom Bateman (Da Vinci’s Demons, Murder on the Orient Express), Nicholas Pinnock (Marcella, Long Bright River), Saffron Hocking (Top Boy, Riches), Kathryn Hunter (The Tragedy of Macbeth, Andor) and Nina Hoss (Homeland, Tár).
Hedda will arrive globally on Prime Video on 29 October.
