Tom Hardy’s Venom faces off against Woody Harrelson’s Carnage in Venom: Let There Be Carnage trailer

Back in 2018, Tom Hardy enjoyed hamming it up with his leading role as Marvel anti-hero Eddie Brock / Venom in the comic-book blockbuster Venom.

Though the film was deemed a critical disappointment, it made a wad of cash at the box-office and has led to the birth of a new sequel entitled Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

Directed this time around by British actor / filmmaker Andy Serkis (Breathe, Mowgli, Legend of the Jungle), the film’s high-frenzied trailer has premiered online.

The plot sees Eddie Brock trying to control his crazed alter-ego Venom while facing the threat of a new enemy in the form of psychotic serial killer Cletus Kasady and his own alter-ego Carnage.

Joining Hardy back in the sequel are Michelle Williams as Eddie’s former lover Anne Weying, Reid Scott as Anne’s new partner Dr. Dan Lewis, Peggy Lu as shopkeeper Mrs. Chen and Woody Harrelson as psychotic new antagonist Kasady.

The sequel also welcomes some new cast additions including Naomie Harris (Spectre, Moonlight), Stephen Graham (Boardwalk Empire, The Irishman) and Sean Delaney (a.k.a. Killing Eve’s Kenny).

Venom: Let There Be Carnage is scheduled for release in the UK on 15 September.
