Six weeks since the Oscars ended, various films from this year’s ceremony have continued to be recognised by other groups with the MTV crowd also getting in on the act.

At their 22nd Annual Movie Awards show last night, the accolade love was shared between Marvel blockbuster The Avengers and the gritty rom-com Silver Linings Playbook with the former securing the coveted Best Film gong.

Director Joss Whedon accepted the award for his film which also won Best Villain for Tom Hiddleston as Loki and Best Fight for the Avengers cast.

Silver Linings received the Best Kiss award for duo Jennifer Lawrence (who also did well at last year’s ceremony with The Hunger Games) and Bradley Cooper with both also winning the respective Best Female/Male Performances.

Show host Rebel Wilson also had a fine evening as she was surprisingly named Best Newcomer as well as sharing the Best Musical Moment prize with her Pitch Perfect co-stars.

There were also individual wins for Suraj Sharma (for Best Scared-As-S**t Performance in Life of Pi), Mark Wahlberg and Ted (Best On-screen Duo in Ted), Taylor Lautner (Best Shirtless Performance for Breaking Dawn: Part II), Django Unchained (Best ‘WTF’ Moment for Candleland Getting Smoked) and Martin Freeman (Best Hero for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey).

Special awards were also given out for Will Ferrell (Comedic Genius), Jamie Foxx (MTV Generation) and Emma Watson (MTV Trailblazer).
