Rachel Zegler’s Snow White is hunted by Gal Gadot’s Evil Queen in new Snow White trailer

A new trailer has landed for Disney’s live-action reimagining of Snow White.

Based on the beloved animation Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937), the upcoming musical fantasy is looking to overcome off-screen controversy and give fans something to savour.

Directed by Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man) and co-written by Greta Gerwig (Little Women, Barbie) and Erin Cressida Wilson (The Girl on the Train), the story follows young princess Snow White as she finds herself exiled by her stepmother, the Evil Queen. After running into a forest, she is rescued by seven dwarfs, who form a friendship with her.

Golden Globe winner Rachel Zegler (West Side Story, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes) steps into the shoes of the iconic Snow White opposite Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman, Death on the Nile) as the Evil Queen.

Additionally, the rest of the cast includes Andrew Burnap (Under the Banner of Heaven, The Front Room), Ansu Kabia (Last Christmas, Miss Scarlett and the Duke) and Martin Klebba (Pirates of the Caribbean series, Mirror Mirror).

Ahead of its release, the film has already attracted controversy over the decision to use CGI to depict six of the seven dwarfs, as well as an alleged feud between Zegler and Gadot over the Israeli-Palestine conflict.

In the meantime, fans will get to judge on whether the film is the fairest of them all when it arrives in UK cinemas on 21 March 2025.
