It looks like Brick Tamland (Steve Carell) will not just be loving lamp after confirmation was finally made today that comedian actress Kristen Wiig (Paul, Bridesmaids) had been cast in the upcoming Anchorman sequel.
Director Adam McKay revealed the news on Twitter that the former Saturday Night Live star would be joining Anchorman: The Legend Continues in the role of Tamland’s new love interest.
“Just found out Kristen Wiig officially on board for Anchorman 2. Cannonball!”
Cannonball indeed! The sequel, which is due for release on December 20th, sees original stars Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate and Paul Rudd also return for the follow-up to the 2004 hit.
Not long to go until the pants party is be back on show! As for Wiig’s casting, “Don’t act like you’re not impressed!”
