Having kicked some bad guy arse in the 2010 superhero comedy Kick-Ass, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Chloe Moretz are back to don their respective costumes in the uncensored trailer for the film’s highly-anticipated follow-up Kick-Ass 2.

Like its predecessor, the sequel is based on the edgy comic-books by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. The plot focuses on Dave Lizewski/Kick-Ass (Johnson) and Mindy Macgready/Hit-Girl (Moretz) as they team up again to fight crime only to be confronted by nemesis Chris D’Amico/Red-Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) as he seeks vengeance on the pair for the death of his father.

However our two wannabe (and foul-mouthed) superheroes manage to gain unlikely support from other vigilantes as well as another caped mercenary in the shape of Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey) as they battle to defeat Red-Mist.

Lyndsey Fonseca (Katie Deauxma), Clark Duke (Marty) and Yancy Butler (Angie D’Amico) are amongst the supporting characters from the previous film that are back in action while John Leguizamo (Romeo + Juliet, Ice Age) and Donald Faison (Clueless, Scrubs) are the newcomers to the cast.

The film, which is directed by Jeff Wadlow (Never Back Down) and produced by original director Matthew Vaughan, is due for release in the UK on July 19th.
