Harrison Ford joins Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues

“Don’t act like you’re not impressed” by this impressive bit of casting news that I’m about to tell you Anchorman fans….

With filming due to begin on the upcoming comedy sequel Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, the project has managed to add a mighty name to its humourous cast.

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that renowned Hollywood actor Harrison Ford (Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark) will play a legendary broadcaster who is based on veteran NBC Nightly News anchor Tom Brokaw. Ford previously starred as an anchorman in the 2010 comedy Morning Glory.

Will Ferrell (Ron Burgandy), Paul Rudd (Brian Fantana), Steve Carell (Brick Tamland) and Christina Applegate (Veronica Corningstone) are all reprising their roles from the original 2004 comedy while other new additions to the cast include Kristen Wiig (Paul, Bridesmaids) as a love interest for Brick and James Marsden (X-Men, Enchanted) as a new nemesis for Ron.

The film is due for release on December 20th.
