Halle Berry confirms return as Storm in X-Men: Days of Future Past

Every piece of news related to the highly-anticipated superhero sequel X-Men: Days of Future Past has been met with positive noise by fans of the comic-book films as director Bryan Singer continues to form his marvellous team of acting talent.

The latest follow-up of the renowned franchise will see the cast of the recent blockbuster X-Men: First Class team up with the cast of the original trilogy (X-Men, X2 and X-Men: The Last Stand) for the film’s important plot which centres on the characters encountering each other via the use of time travel.

Further evidence of the upcoming film’s hype has been turned up even more after Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry (Monster’s Ball, Cloud Atlas) confirmed to Black Free TV that she would be reprising her role as the weather-controlling mutant Storm from the original trilogy.

“The fans really love Storm, and so I’m really happy that it’s worked out that way. No matter what my part will be or won’t be, to be a part of that is always a good thing. I love it.”

Days of Future Past will see Berry reunite with her previous co-stars which include Hugh Jackman (Logan/Wolverine), Ian McKellen (Older Magneto), Patrick Stewart (Older Charles Xavier), Anna Paquin (Rogue) and Ellen Page (Kitty) while James McAvoy (Young Charles Xavier), Michael Fassbender (Young Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique) and Nicholas Hoult (Beast) are all set to reprise their roles from First Class.
The cast has also added some news including Peter Dinklage (The Station Agent, Game of Thrones) as a potential villain and French actor Omar Sy (The Intouchables).
The film will be released in cinemas on July 18th 2014. That year is already promising to be another incredible period for superhero films after the dominance of the genre in recent times with 2013 set to be driven by Iron Man, Thor and the long awaited big-screen return of Superman.
