Gillian Anderson and Rufus Sewell recreate Newsnight’s interview with Prince Andrew in Scoop trailer

The official trailer for Scoop is here.

The factual drama gathers a versatile ensemble for a new Netflix film that covers one of the most shocking television interviews of recent years.

Directed by Philip Martin (Mo, The Crown) and written by Peter Moffat (Silk, Your Honor), the drama explores the behind-the-scenes story of the women who negotiated with Buckingham Palace to secure the “scoop of the decade” that was the public catalyst for the downfall of Prince Andrew, in an infamous televised interview that focused on his relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Emmy winner Gillian Anderson (The X-Files, The Crown) portrays Newsnight journalist Emily Mathis along a solid support cast that includes Keeley Hawes (The Durrells, Bodyguard) as Amanda Thirsk, Billie Piper (Doctor Who, I Hate Suzie) as Sam McAlister, Connor Swindells (Sex Education, SAS Rogue Heroes) as Jae Donnelly, Romola Garai (Atonement, The Crimson Petal and the White) as Esme Wren, Lia Williams (The Capture, Mr Bates vs. the Post Office) as Fran Unsworth, Charity Wakefield (Bounty Hunters, The Great) as Princess Beatrice, and Rufus Sewell (A Knight’s Tale, The Man in the High Castle) as Prince Andrew.

Scoop will be available to stream on Netflix from 5 April.
