Slave Jamie Foxx sets out to rescue his wife in new trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained

The official trailer has landed for Quentin Tarantino’s thrilling new film Django Unchained.

The maverick filmmaker (Pulp Fiction, Inglorious Basterds) has turned his attention to the Wild West in his latest outing, which once again tackles the theme of revenge.

The plot follows African slave Django as he finds himself freed by a German bounty hunter. The pair then set out to rescue Django’s wife from a charismatic yet cruel plantation owner, with bloody results.

Oscar winners Jamie Foxx (Ray) and Christopher Waltz (Inglorious Basterds) lead the film’s starry cast as Django and Dr. King Schultz, alongside Leonardo DiCaprio (The Departed) in an against-type role as the sinister plantation owner Calvin Candie.

The rest of the ensemble includes Kerry Washington (The Last King of Scotland), Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction), Walton Goggins (The Shield), Dennis Christopher (Breaking Away) and Don Johnson (Miami Vice).

Django Unchained will be released in the UK on January 18.
